Windowpane has always been one of my favorite suit patterns because it makes for a bold and powerful look. It’s the ideal pattern to rock whenever you want to make a statement or just make a lasting impression.
Fortunately, you don’t need a bunch of windowpane suits and blazers in your closet. Instead, all you really need is one jacket or suit that can be broken up and worn separately.
Here’s one example on how to incorporate it into your wardrobe this Fall.
Bring The Pane
If you’re more a conservative guy and you’re looking to add some color to your business wardrobe, I would recommend a navy suit with a subtle windowpane. Basically, something that most people wouldn’t recognize until they looked closely.
However, if you prefer to make a statement at the office, consider a bolder windowpane pattern with a contrasting color.
Just keep in mind that if your suit is bold, you should keep the rest of your outfit simple and understated so that it can stand out on it’s own. In other words, ditch the colorful paisley tie, statement loafers, and keep your accessories to a minimum!
If you’re not sure about rocking a full windowpane suit, consider using the pattern in a contrast vest to give one of your casual outfits more of a tailored look.
Mixing tailored garments with casual pieces is my favorite way to dress because you will always be prepared for any occasion and you will never feel underdressed.
Lastly, you can always wear the jacket as a separate and pair it with some white or dark denim jeans for a classic tailored outfit!
