When I started this blog, my main goal was to help inspire young professionals to dress well for their lifestyle and career. As a result, this blog became a platform for me to monitor my style evolution. Then, I started featuring my friends in order to share their perspective on style and how they started their careers. Throughout the years I have been fortunate enough to work with various fashion brands, meet people from different walks of life, and accomplish my initial goal of inspiring young professionals. However, one perk of blogging that I did not account for was being able to monitor my career track and see how far I’ve grown professionally.
Last year, I wrote a blog post entitled “Professor McLeod”, seen here. In that post, I discussed the possibility of me becoming a college professor and today I can finally cross that goal off my bucket list because this fall I will be teaching my first college course at my alma matar, Buffalo State College.
When I first wrote that post I was simply flirting with the idea of teaching a college course. I figured by doing so I would be able to leave a lasting impression at Buffalo State all while enhancing my own skills (ex. public speaking). Therefore, once the opportunity presented itself I quickly welcomed it with open arms. The title of my course is “Mastering the Academic Environment”. In my course I will be providing the tips and tricks on how to become a successful college student. I will also invite some of my colleagues and friends to share their story and hopefully inspire my students to obtain their goals. I have so many exciting things planned for this course so I will definitely be sharing some of those moments here on the blog. And of course I will also infuse some fashion and menswear discussions into the course as well.
As always, thanks for reading!
