A fedora hat is both functional and stylish. It can be perfect accessory to keep the sun out of your eyes, hide your bad hair day, and/or add the perfect finishing touch to your outfit. Therefore, I believe every guy should have at least one fedora in their hat collection.

I’ve actually started to build my collection since I started growing my hair and my latest pickup is this olive fedora from my friends over at Southern Gents.

So here is one way to rock a fedora as well as some tips on how to choose the right hat style for you!

Finding the right hat style to compliment the shape and size of your face is crucial. After all, the shape of your face determines the style of hat that will look best on you. For instance, someone with a square shaped face would look best in a hat with a rounder crown and a slightly wider brim. Panama hats and wide brim fedoras like this one should come to mind.

On the other hand, someone with an oval-shaped face, would want something slightly more boxy with a medium sized brim.

One thing that I’ve learned as I continue to build my hat collection, is that the more often you wear a hat, and the more hats you wear, the more comfortable you’ll feel in them. My personal favorites have always been Panama hats and felt fedoras like this one. However, I’m sure I’ll be switching things up and adding some different styles soon (more on that later).

However, I think a fedora can easily become your everyday headwear because it’s the perfect accessory for a suited or casual look.
