How to Make a Statement Without Saying Anything

When it comes to my personal style, I’ve always been known for keeping things simple and clean. However, I always like to keep a few bold pieces in my wardrobe for when t I want to make a statement without actually saying anything.

So since fall is quickly approaching (my favorite season of the year), it was perfect timing to add some new statement pieces to my wardrobe.

This plaid blazer was one of the items that I picked up from Suit Supply’s annual outlet sale. Even though, I mentioned that I had a few regrets about the sale, this was one of my smarter purchases! Not only was I impressed with the price (50% off = $150), but the fit was spot on. In fact, it fit better than some of my custom pieces!

I’ve said it once but I’ll say it again. The best way to wear something that is very bold is to keep everything else simple. Therefore, a white oxford shirt, dark denim jeans, and a pair of red penny loafers is all you need to complete the look.

A pair of khaki, navy, or dark green chinos would also work well with this jacket, so if you were lucky enough to grab this jacket during the sale, don’t worry you definitely have some options!

As soon as I saw the catalog for Sebago’s Fall/Winter ’16 collection, I knew I had to get my hands on a pair of their red legacy penny loafers.

They’re actually closer to an oxblood shade as opposed to being red, and that’s great because that makes it more versatile, because let’s be honest how often would you really wear a red pair of loafers.

However, you would be surprised at how many things pair well with oxblood shoes, more on that later!
