The first day of Pitti Uomo 92 was definitely a huge success!
Not only was it my first time at the premier menswear trade show, but it was also my first time in Florence, Italy. Therefore, I took full advantage of the opportunity to connect with a bunch of different brands, meet some new people, and of course take in all of the sights!
Pitti Uomo 92: Day 1
It was at least 95 degrees on the first day of Pitti Uomo 92. Therefore, this custom linen suit was essential to attempting to beat the heat. I always say that one of the keys to staying cool in the summer is to wear light and breathable fabrics. Therefore, since I haven’t found anything more breathable than linen, this suit was an obvious option!
However, the only way to truly beat the heat when it’s 90+ degrees is to stay indoors. So that’s exactly what I did for most of the day.
I spent most of my time chatting with brand representatives, checking out their latest collections, and learning more about their future plans. Obviously, a lot of the brands at Pitti were based in Europe and some of the reps even spoke English as a second language. However, their passion for menswear and design helped us communicate even easier.
In fact, that was actually my favorite thing about Pitti Uomo 92. This was the first time that I was around so many people that were just as passionate about menswear and craftsmanship as I am, so it was a refreshing experience to say the least.
Let’s just say that I will be taking another trip to Florence for Pitti Uomo again!
