Welcome to the new Dapperadvisor.com!
The Dapper Advisor brand is growing, and as a result I wanted to go in a new direction and incorporate some of my stylish friends. Honestly, I was just growing tired of seeing my face all over the blog, so I decided that it was finally time to switch gears and feature people than can inspire others in ways that I might be not be able to. It is also a great opportunity for me to put my photography skills to work.
For the first style feature on the new site, I would like to introduce my good friend, Chance Ivery. Chance is a Fashion and Textile Technology major, with a style that street wear enthusiasts envy, and menswear enthusiasts alike can’t help but respect.
The Navy Trench Coat
“I always wanted a light weight overcoat that I could throw over a button down, a hoodie, or even just wear with a t-shirt. Since trench coats are increasing in popularity, I wanted a unique piece that still shared some similar characteristics. I chose this navy overcoat from Burberry because I admire Christopher Bailey, CEO and Creative Director of Burberry, and I appreciate his attention to detail. He re-defines classic outerwear but still manages to keep the Burberry heritage intact.”

“Wearing a bunch of luxury brands is cool but I also like to stay true to my humble street wear roots. I was searching for a tri-colored flannel shirt that was durable and contemporary. Luckily I found this one at a Ralph Lauren outlet during a huge sale and got it for about $20.”
I can definitely relate to Chance with finds like these because I appreciate a good sale just as much as the next guy. It was also good to know that although he prefers luxury brands like Rick Owens and Givenchy, he still shops at local outlets for bargains.
I have been a long time fan of briefcases, laptop cases, and bags in general, but this camouflage tote takes the cake. It is ideal for storing an ipad, a couple books, and a swatch kit, all of which are essentials for a fashion and textile technology major.
“I like to focus on a brands strength, so I usually purchase the pieces they specializes in because those are the items they tend to pay closer attention to. I also like “traditional” pieces that are re-interpreted and have subtle details. Therefore, this black trench coat from Burberry is another one of my favorites.”
I am also a huge fan of trench coats and overcoats, but I especially appreciate the leather straps on the wrist of this one. It also has some incredible details on the back as well. In fact, I always compliment Chance on this coat whenever he wears it.
Sweatpants will always be a staple for college students everywhere, but these are not your common, everyday sweatpants. The embossed details really help make these sweats standout and prove that you can still be stylish even in a pair of sweats.

Chance aspires to be a fashion buyer after he graduates. Therefore, he constantly researches the current trends and industry innovations to stay up to date with every thing related to men’s fashion. He also plans on interning in order to gain the crucial experience and insight needed to break into the complex world of fashion. After having dozens of conversations and debates about brands and men’s fashion in general, I could tell that Chance has completely ingratiated himself in the culture and will be a successful buyer after he earns his degree.
Thanks for reading and special thanks to Chance
for participating. This is only the foundation for bigger things to come!Yours Truly,
