When the weather permits, a chunky knit sweater is the ideal layering piece for this time of the year. I have been searching for a cardigan like this very quite some time, and I was lucky enough to find this vintage cardigan at a local thrift store for only $3.
One of the best things about sweaters like this is that they can be worn as a sweater or as outerwear. However, if it is being worn as outerwear I suggest that you wear a significant amount of layers underneath, such as an OCBD shirt and a henley by Håndværk. Since the henley is elegantly fitted it can easily be worn underneath your clothes without adding any unnecessary bulk.
My favorite things about this sweater are the details such as the chestnut colored wooden buttons and the classic design of the stitching. I also particularly appreciate its longer length because provides some much needed insulation for colder days.
