I am pretty sure by now that my love of waistcoats has become quite obvious. These last few posts have allowed me to start thinking more creatively in an effort to show waistcoats true versatility. It is one of those garments that can easily be dressed up or dressed down. This time I wanted to experiment and use it as an extra layering piece, even though I am not really a fan of layering. However, I am beginning to appreciate the trend, especially after this outfit.
One of the best aspects of layering is that it allows you to incorporate several different colors and textures into one outfit. However, the trick is to make sure everything flows and compliments each other. Notice how the yellow check and chambray in this waistcoat really stands out against the chunky knit sweater and the denim jacket.
Although I would always prefer a single topcoat instead of several layers, sometimes wearing different layers can be the perfect option for those “not-so-cold” winter days.
