Fall Layering: The Trench Coat

In Buffalo, the fall weather can be beautiful in October and have high temperatures of 70 degrees. While some days are frigid and windy and temperatures barely hit 35 degrees. That is why I consider it to be such a bi-polar city in terms of the weather. Therefore, having an array of outerwear is so essential, especially on the days that are not as a cold.

I have recently started experimenting with layering, specifically with waistcoats and suit jackets and I am beginning to appreciate the concept of layering more and more. This time I swapped the suit jacket for a lightweight trench because the weather was not as cold as day’s prior. A trench coat can often be the perfect final layering piece for most outfits. I previously wrote about trench coats but this outfit just goes to show the versatility of a trench coat, as well as the different style that are available.
This trench coat was also a thrift store find, and after getting it altered it now fits perfectly and has the ability to compliment most of my outfits. I opted to get the coat tailored very slim through the body. Therefore wearing a suit jacket underneath it is not an option. However, this coat has become ideal for days that are 50 degrees and warmer.
