Welcome to Denim Week!
This week I will be discussing everything you need to know about denim and how to successfully incorporate the fabric into your existing wardrobe. Denim is one of my favorite fabrics because it’s so easy to dress it up or dress it down. It’s also one of those fabrics that are built to last, so once you find a quality garment, you can wear it over and over again.
So to help kick things off, here is one example on how to wear a denim shirt with a suit!
Most people avoid wearing a suit outside of professional settings because it feels too “dressy” for them. However, I’ve never really believed in that because I am always finding new ways to dress down my suits.
One of my latest methods is to pair my suits with a denim shirt to add some more casual vibes!
This denim shirt in particular has a button-down collar and the best thing about this collar style is that it is perfect for when you don’t want to wear a tie. After all, not wearing a tie is the best way to make a suit seem less formal.
Also, the best thing about button-down collars is that the collar stays up all day long. Nothing annoys me more than seeing a floppy collar under a blazer!
Style Tip: Try using metal collar stays to help keep your shirt collars from falling down![show_shopthepost_widget id=”2191819″]
Lastly, when it comes to wearing a denim shirt with a suit, make sure the fabric is soft so that it can be worn comfortably under the jacket.
Also, finding the right shade of denim to pair with a suit can be difficult. That’s why I have so many different denim shirts.
However, to make your life a little easier try finding a medium wash denim shirt like this one so you can wear it with both darker (navy & dark grey) and lighter (khaki & light grey) colored suits!
