It’s not everyday that you find a pair of shoes with a wingtip design that are sturdy enough to trudge the snow, yet formal enough to wear with a shirt and tie. Thankfully, the good folks over Cat Footwear made this possible with their August/Winter 2013 Men’s Dougald Shoe.
I recently reviewed Cat Footwear’s S/S 2014 Mens Abe Canvas boot, seen here, and I was extremely impressed with its rough and rugged design. Needless to say, I am a fan of their ingenuity. Fortunately enough, my Cat Footwear product reviews continue with the A/W 2013 Men’s Dougald Shoe. This shoe makes a bold statement with its rich brown leather and wingtip design. Ironically enough, similar shoes with a Goodyear welt construction cost $200+ because of their longevity. However, this shoe is modestly priced at only $145.
In terms of styling, the shoe can be paired with a pair of dark denim jeans or a pair of brown or grey wool trousers, which are all ideal picks for the fall and winter seasons. Ironically, this thrifted tweed sports jacket, and Jack Georges briefcase, resemble the shoes twill upper and rich dark brown leather almost identically.
