Ever since I’ve made the move to California, I’ve been wearing suits less often and finding different ways to “dress up” some of my casual pieces. I like to call it being casually tailored. For instance, I’ve been wearing these raw denim jeans with everything from leather jackets and rugged boots to chunky knit sweaters and chelsea boots.
Honestly, I’m still trying to break them in so that they can develop some dope whiskers and fades.
However, that just further proves why a dark pair of denim jeans will always be an essential because you can easily dress them up or dress it down. So here is one example of how to dress up your denim jeans!
Casually Tailored In Jeans
Wearing a tie is one of the easiest ways to dress up your outfit!
However, not all ties are created equally. In fact, there are certain ties that you can rock without looking like you’re going to an interview, like a silk knit tie. Silk knits have more of a casual vibe to them because of their texture and square bottom.
Also, adding a waistcoat is another great way to dress up your jeans.
Of course, you can always wear a blazer as an alternative, but a waistcoat (or vest, whatever you prefer) is one of my go-to pieces for when I’m trying to take my casually tailored outfits to the next level!
Last but certainly not least, instead of wearing a pair of sneakers or boots, consider a pair of smooth leather loafers in a neutral color.
A pair of tassel loafers or some penny loafers would be just fine, and trust me adding a penny is definitely not necessary!
As always, thanks for reading!
