Denim and denim jackets in particular will always be one of my wardrobe essentials, especially during the spring. I actually remember when they started trending while I was in college and only a few guys could get their hands on one that fit well. The rest of us had to try our luck in the thrift store!
However, it’s safe to say that denim jackets are here to stay. Every guy has at least one of them in their closet and it’s usually a light blue or a classic dark indigo option. Still, as my interest in denim continues to grow, I’ve started to gravitate towards other colors like white, raw denim, and even black waxed denim.
So here is one way to wear some waxed denim this spring!
All Black Waxed Denim
Waxed denim is basically just regular denim that’s been finished with a thin coating of wax. The visual effect leaves the denim looking stiff, rubbery and kind of shiny in an interesting way.
In fact, people often mistake it for leather because of the shine.
Not only is waxed denim a nice change from the usual shades of blue denim, but it also has a crisper drape and a more interesting texture.
The wax coating also protects the fabric against water damage, stains, and color fading so you can wear it as often as you like without having to worry about it getting ruined.
In fact, I’ve had these waxed denim pieces for about 5 years and I think it just looks better with time!
As always, thanks for reading and stay tuned for my upcoming giveaway!
