Beckett Simonon Review: 3 Ways To Wear The Reid

I love wearing classic footwear like wingtips, monk straps, and loafers, but ever since I moved to Southern California I find myself wearing sneakers more often. I haven’t reverted back to my sneakerhead days by rocking Jordans and Foamposites again but I am constantly on the hunt for sneakers that I can easily dress up or dress down. Fortunately, I’ve partnered with the team over at Beckett Simonon to review one of their latest releases, the white leather reid low top sneaker.

In my opinion, it’s a classic and timeless silhouette that both the menswear and streetwear community could appreciate. Therefore, I’ve decided to style it 3 different ways in order to illustrate just how versatile this shoe really is!

Sherbet in the Summertime

White sneakers can elevate just about any outfit because it’s crisp, classic, and clean. It’s their simplicity that make them so versatile.

However, one thing that can make a white sneaker standout amongst the crowd is it’s susceptibility to creasing. Think back to the good old days when everyone had a pair of white low top Air Force 1’s. Do you remember how goofy and awkard we would have to walk just to avoid creasing up the toe box? In fact, I was notorious for walking around like a duck during those first couple of wears just to keep them as fresh. Unfortunately, that still never worked.

However, that’s where the quality of the reid low top sneaker really shines. I’ve worn this shoe to go out to dinner, to run some errands, and obviously to take these photos, and they still haven’t gotten any creases!

Seersucker Made Simple

This is another slightly “dressed up” look, but the t-shirt and white leather sneakers make it look and feel a lot more casual. In fact, I think that best describes my personal style at the moment because I love combining tailored and casual pieces together.

Some style aficionados would call it sharp casual, but I like to call it casually tailored!

Checks & Linens

Last but certainly not least is this simple crisp white linen shirt with a band collar and some plaid navy blue pants for the win!

Even though it’s summertime and most of us are resorting to wearing a t-shirt and shorts to beat the heat, I’ve learned that it’s very easy to dress well while staying cool. Trust me it took a while for me to get used to this Southern California weather but after re-organizing my wardrobe, I think I’ve finally built a solid foundation. And what better way to complete the fit than with these white leather sneakers.

Honestly, if I was back in NY I would have probably paired this outfit with some loafers but I’m glad that I finally have a pair of all white sneakers to complete my casually tailored aesthetic!
